Charter Bus Prices: What Affects the Cost

Every Factor, Explained.

How much does a charter bus cost? It depends on your trip. Here is what we look at when we prepare a quote, and what a Jet Set Line quote includes.

Pricing Explained

How Charter Bus Pricing Works

There is no single price for a charter bus, because no two trips are alike. When we prepare a quote, we look at how many hours and days the coach and driver are needed, the total distance driven, and how many coaches your group needs. Each of our motorcoaches seats 56 to 60 passengers, so a group of 80 travels on two. Your dates matter too: busy seasons and holidays bring more demand for the same coaches.

We would rather explain the cost than surprise you with it. A Jet Set Line quote covers the coach, a professional CDL driver, fuel, insurance and standard amenities such as an onboard restroom, reclining seats and climate control. Gratuity, tolls and parking fees are not included unless specified, and Wi-Fi is a paid add-on. Jet Set Line has been family-owned in Orlando since 1987, and our team can walk you through any quote in English or Spanish.

What We Look At

  • Time and Distance

The hours and days the coach and driver are needed, and the total distance driven, shape the quote. That includes reaching your pickup and returning afterward, not only the miles your group rides.

  • Group Size

Each coach seats 56 to 60 passengers, depending on the model. A group that fits on one coach needs one coach and one driver; a larger group needs several, and the quote reflects each one.

  • Dates and Season

Busy seasons and holidays bring more demand for coaches and drivers. Booking early gives you more choice, especially for peak dates and for groups that need more than one coach.

  • Drivers and Add-ons

Federal hours-of-service rules limit how long one driver can be on duty, so a long day may need a second driver. Add-ons such as Wi-Fi, which is a paid add-on, also appear in the quote.

How to Get an Accurate Quote

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Send your dates and times, the pickup and drop-off addresses, every stop along the way, your head count and any accessibility needs. A wheelchair lift is available on request on select coaches, so mention it at the start. If the plan is still taking shape, send what you have. An estimate is fine, and the quote can be updated as the details firm up.

Book two to four weeks ahead for most trips, and four to eight weeks for peak seasons, holidays and large groups. If you are comparing quotes, compare what each one includes: the coach, the driver, fuel, insurance, gratuity, tolls and parking. Check each carrier's USDOT number in the federal FMCSA records too. Ours is USDOT 478281, with a Satisfactory safety rating after a January 2025 federal review.

Questions

Common Questions

How much does it cost to rent a charter bus?

It depends on the trip. The hours and days you need the coach, the total distance, how many coaches your group needs, your dates and any add-ons all shape the price. Send us your itinerary and head count, and we will prepare a quote for your exact trip.

Is a charter bus cheaper per person than other options?

It depends on the size of your group and the trip itself, so there is no single answer for everyone. What many groups value is traveling together on one coach, with luggage stowed below, an onboard restroom and one professional driver instead of a line of cars. Your quote lets you compare for your own trip.

Are gratuity, tolls and parking included?

Not unless specified. A Jet Set Line quote includes the coach, a professional CDL driver, fuel, insurance and standard amenities. Gratuity, tolls and parking fees are separate unless your quote says otherwise, so plan for them in your budget. Wi-Fi is a paid add-on if your group wants it.

Does a one-way trip cost less than a round trip or an hourly charter?

Not always. Even on a one-way trip, the coach still has to reach your pickup and return afterward, so the full distance and time count, not just the miles your group rides. Whether one-way, round trip or hourly makes more sense depends on your schedule, and we can quote more than one option.
