Student Travel

Approved by Florida School Districts

When you sign off on a trip for a busload of students, you are trusting someone else with them. Jet Set Line is an approved charter vendor for Florida school districts including Volusia, St. Lucie, Miami-Dade and Hernando, so the paperwork your district asks for is familiar to us. We are a family-owned Orlando company founded in 1987, and our drivers are CDL-licensed professionals who must pass FBI Level II background checks before they drive for us.

Our safety record is public, and you can check it yourself. We hold a Satisfactory rating from FMCSA, its highest, after a federal compliance review in January 2025. We have had zero out-of-service orders in federal roadside inspections since October 2023, and no fatal crash has ever been recorded under our USDOT number, 478281. Our coaches have seatbelts, actively monitored onboard cameras and GPS tracking, and every trip starts with a pre-trip inspection.

What Teachers Ask First

  • A Record Your District Can Verify

Look up USDOT 478281 on the FMCSA website. You will find our Satisfactory rating, our inspection history and our insurance on file. Share those numbers with your district office before you sign anything.

  • Screened, Professional Drivers

Every driver holds a commercial driver's license, and FBI Level II background checks are required for all driver positions. Dash-mounted event recorders and actively monitored cameras keep a record of every mile.

  • Room for Instruments and Gear

Under-floor bays carry luggage, uniforms, instrument cases and equipment, with overhead racks inside for backpacks. Tell us about tubas, percussion and other large pieces in advance so we can plan the load.

  • Restrooms on Long Rides

Our coaches have an onboard restroom, climate control and reclining seats, so a three-hour ride to a competition does not depend on finding a rest stop with forty students waiting in line.

Planning a School Charter

Start with the head count, including chaperones, and the address of every stop. Each coach seats 56 to 60 passengers depending on the model, and for a whole grade we send several coaches that travel together. Common trips include Kennedy Space Center, Florida museums, performances and band competitions, and theme-park education days. For overnight or out-of-state travel, send the full itinerary so we can plan driver hours and rest.

Book two to four weeks ahead for most trips, and four to eight weeks for peak season, holidays or several coaches. If your district needs a vendor number or certificate of insurance, say so when you request a quote and we will send what we have on file. Mention any student who uses a wheelchair: a lift is available on request on select coaches. Your quote is itemized, and tolls, parking and gratuity are listed separately.

Questions

Common Questions

Are you an approved vendor for Florida school districts?

Yes. Jet Set Line is an approved charter vendor for Florida school districts including Volusia, St. Lucie, Miami-Dade and Hernando. If your district is not on that list, tell us when you request a quote and we will help with the vendor paperwork your district office needs. You can verify our federal record at any time under USDOT 478281.

How are your drivers screened?

All of our drivers are CDL-licensed professionals, and FBI Level II background checks are required for every driver position. Our coaches carry dash-mounted event recorders, actively monitored onboard cameras and GPS tracking, and drivers complete a pre-trip inspection before every trip.

Will band instruments and equipment fit on the bus?

Most instrument cases, uniforms and equipment ride in the under-floor bays, and smaller items fit in the overhead racks. Large pieces such as tubas, drums, keyboards or props need planning, so send us an equipment list in advance. For a large band we may suggest an additional coach so students and gear both travel comfortably.

How many students fit on one coach, and can you send several?

Our coaches seat 56 to 60 passengers depending on the model, and that count includes teachers and chaperones. For a whole grade or a full band, we send several coaches that travel together on the same schedule. Vehicle assignment depends on group size and availability, so share your final head count as early as you can.

Can we plan an overnight or out-of-state school trip?

Yes. We run multi-day trips throughout Florida and long-distance trips across the United States, and we have held interstate passenger authority since 1993. Send the full itinerary, including hotels and the daily schedule, so we can plan driver rest and timing. Overnight trips and large groups should book four to eight weeks ahead.
